correr

to run

verb koh-RREHR Less Common

Also means

to flow

Usage Note

Correr covers running on foot, flowing water, and even financial risk: correr el riesgo (to run the risk). In computing contexts it also means 'to run' a program. The reflexive correrse can mean to slide or shift, and in some registers carries a vulgar meaning — a word to use carefully in informal speech.

Examples

"Me gusta correr por el parque."

Natural Translation

I like running through the park.

Literal Translation

To-me pleases to-run through the park.
