Usage Note

Correría (plural correrías) originally referred to a military raid or incursion into enemy territory, derived from correr (to run). In modern usage it has broadened to mean an adventure, escapade, or series of travels, often with a lively or adventurous connotation — las correrías de su juventud ('the adventures of his youth'). The military sense survives in historical texts. The plural correrías is far more common than the singular.
