Usage Note
Vigor means physical or mental vitality, but its most important legal/administrative phrase is en vigor — in force (said of a law or regulation). English 'in vigor' is not used; the English equivalent is 'in force' or 'in effect'. Do not confuse vigor with vigoroso (vigorous).
