Usage Note
Según is one of the rare Spanish prepositions that does not change the pronoun that follows it: según tú 'according to you' (not según ti). It can stand alone as an adverb meaning 'it depends': ¿Te gusta? —Según. 'Do you like it? —Depends.' In formal writing, según commonly introduces sourced claims: según el informe 'according to the report'.
Examples
"Según el médico, debo descansar."
