importance
Usage Note
Relevancia is the abstract noun for relevance or significance. It is a false friend: English 'relevance' maps directly, but Spanish relevante (relevant) also carries the sense of 'notable, prominent', slightly broader than English 'relevant'. The phrase de relevancia (of relevance/importance) is common in academic and journalistic prose.
Examples
"La relevancia de ese dato no debe ignorarse."
Natural Translation
The relevance of that piece of data should not be ignored.
