Usage Note
Peinado is the past participle of peinar ('to comb') used as a noun. The verb peinarse means to comb or style one's hair, and the agent noun is peinador/peinadora ('hairdresser' in parts of Latin America). In Spain and much of Latin America, peluquero/a is more common for 'hairdresser' and corte de pelo for a 'haircut', while peinado refers specifically to the finished style.
