Usage Note
Pegar covers two very different meanings: physically hitting someone (me pegó = 'he hit me') and adhering something (pega el sello = 'stick the stamp'). In Spain it also means to suit or match (ese color no pega = 'that colour doesn't go'). The reflexive pegarse can mean 'to catch' a disease or habit.
Examples
"El niño pegó la foto en la pared."
Natural Translation
The child stuck the photo on the wall.
