Usage Note
Lejano describes physical or figurative distance and agrees in gender and number with its noun: lejana, lejanos, lejanas. The opposite is cercano. The phrase el Lejano Oriente (the Far East) is a fixed geographical expression. Note that lejos is the adverbial form ('far away') and cannot replace lejano as a modifier.
