Introducir is irregular: it follows the conducir pattern with a -zc- stem in the first-person singular present (introduzco) and a -j- stem throughout the preterite (introduje, introdujiste…). To 'introduce' a person to someone is presentar, not introducir — introducir means to insert or bring something new into use, not to make social introductions.
