Aconsejar is typically followed by que + subjunctive when giving a recommendation to someone: te aconsejo que descanses (I advise you to rest). It can also take an infinitive directly: te aconsejo descansar. The noun form is consejo (advice), and the agent noun is consejero (advisor, counselor).
