fe

faith

noun feh Less Common

Origin: From Latin fides (trust, faith).

Usage Note

Fe is one of the shortest Spanish nouns and keeps the definite article la (not el) despite starting with an unstressed vowel — unlike agua or alma, which take el before stressed 'a'. The phrase de buena fe means 'in good faith.' Fe also appears in compound legal terms like fe pública (notarial authority).

Examples

"Tiene mucha fe en su equipo."

Natural Translation

She has a lot of faith in her team.
