entrenado

trained

adjective en-treh-NAH-doh Rare

Usage Note

Entrenado is the past-participial adjective of entrenar (to train). It is used with estar to describe a current state of fitness or readiness: está bien entrenado means he is well trained. Entrenar itself is a false friend area — it means 'to train/coach', not 'to enter'; the verb entrar (to enter) is unrelated.

Examples

"El equipo está muy bien entrenado."

Natural Translation

The team is very well trained.
