Despreocupado describes someone free of worry or anxiety, often with a positive connotation of easy-going temperament. It should not be confused with irresponsable (irresponsible) — despreocupado is neutral to positive while the latter is critical. The feminine form is despreocupada; the reflexive verb despreocuparse means 'to stop worrying.'
