Usage Note

Ciclismo refers to cycling as a sport or recreational activity. Spain has a proud cycling tradition — la Vuelta a España is one of Grand Tour cycling's three major races alongside the Tour de France and the Giro d'Italia. A cyclist is ciclista (m/f), and a cycle lane is carril bici or carril ciclista. The word bicicleta (bicycle) shares the same Greek root.
