Celo in the singular means 'zeal' or 'dedication' (trabajar con celo = 'to work with zeal'). In the plural, celos means 'jealousy' (tener celos = 'to be jealous'). In Spain, celo also refers to adhesive tape (Sellotape/Scotch tape), a trademark that became a common noun — the Latin American equivalent is cinta adhesiva or scotch.
