Usage Note
Cargar is a spelling-change verb (g→gu before e): cargué. It means to carry a load, to load a weapon, and in modern usage to charge a device: cargar el móvil. The reflexive cargarse algo colloquially means 'to break' or 'to destroy' something: se cargó el ordenador. In Latin America it can also mean to carry (a person or child), where Spain might prefer llevar.
