Usage Note
Tacón refers specifically to the heel of a shoe, not the anatomical heel of the foot (that is talón). Zapatos de tacón are high-heeled shoes; tacón de aguja is a stiletto heel. Learners often confuse tacón (shoe heel) with talón (body heel, also a bank cheque).
Examples
"Llevaba unos zapatos de tacón alto."
Natural Translation
She was wearing high-heeled shoes.
