Reverendo is a title and noun for a member of the clergy, equivalent to English 'Reverend'. It is used both as a direct form of address (Reverendo Padre) and as a noun (el reverendo habló). In informal and colloquial Spanish, the adjective reverendo can also intensify an insult in a vulgar register — un reverendo idiota — but learners should be cautious with this use.
