Usage Note
Preocupado is used with estar (never ser), because it describes a temporary emotional state: estoy preocupado, not soy preocupado. The feminine is preocupada. The reflexive verb preocuparse por means 'to worry about'; me preocupa el examen ('the exam worries me') follows the gustar structure.
Examples
"Está muy preocupado por su salud."
Natural Translation
He is very worried about his health.
