Usage Note
Postguerra (also spelled posguerra) names the period immediately following a war, especially the social and economic rebuilding phase. In Spain it most often refers to the years after the Civil War (1936–1939). The word can also function attributively: la España de postguerra ('postwar Spain'). Both spellings — postguerra and posguerra — are accepted by the RAE.
