Also means
barrel; pip (seed)
Usage Note
Pipa covers several distinct senses: a smoking pipe, a large wooden barrel or cask, and a seed or pip of a fruit (as in pipas de girasol, sunflower seeds — a classic Spanish snack). Context almost always disambiguates. The snack sense (pipas) is very common in Spain, where bags of sunflower seeds are sold at kiosks and stadiums. As a false-friend caution, English 'pipe' in the plumbing sense is tubería or cañería, not pipa.
Examples
"El anciano encendió su pipa lentamente."
Natural Translation
The old man lit his pipe slowly.
