Inocente is used both legally (fue declarado inocente, 'he was found innocent') and to describe a naive or guileless person. El Día de los Santos Inocentes (28 December) is the Spanish-speaking equivalent of April Fools' Day, when pranks (inocentadas) are traditional. The noun is inocencia.
