Usage Note
Amable is used with ser to describe a person's character and with estar to describe behavior in a specific situation: es muy amable (she is very kind by nature) vs estuvo muy amable conmigo (she was very kind to me on that occasion). The adverb is amablemente. Paired with a request, '¿sería tan amable de...?' is a polite formal formula.
