Usage Note
Iniciado functions both as an adjective ('started, begun') and as a noun meaning a person admitted into a secret society or specialised group: los iniciados refers to insiders or initiates. As a past participle used adjectivally it agrees in gender: la sesión iniciada ('the started session'). In formal contexts it also appears in the phrase una vez iniciado el proceso ('once the process has begun').
