Usage Note
Indefinidamente signals that no fixed endpoint has been set, and is used after verbs of continuing, postponing, or suspending: aplazado indefinidamente ('postponed indefinitely'). It is a transparent compound of indefinido + -mente and presents no false-friend risk for English speakers. In formal writing it often follows the past participle in a passive construction, making pospuesto indefinidamente a very common journalistic collocation.
Examples
"El proyecto fue aplazado indefinidamente."
Natural Translation
The project was postponed indefinitely.
