Also means
awkward
Usage Note
Incómodo describes both physical discomfort (una silla incómoda) and social awkwardness (un silencio incómodo). In Spanish, estar (not ser) is used for this feeling: estoy incómodo ('I feel uncomfortable'), since it describes a state, not an inherent trait. The noun is incomodidad; the opposite is cómodo.
Examples
"El asiento del tren era muy incómodo."
Natural Translation
The train seat was very uncomfortable.
