Usage Note
Estancia means a temporary stay or sojourn in most of Spain and urban Latin America: mi estancia en París duró un mes. In Argentina, Uruguay, and southern South America it also means a large cattle ranch, roughly equivalent to a hacienda elsewhere. Context usually resolves the ambiguity.
