Also means
disappointment
Usage Note
Desilusión conveys the feeling when reality falls short of expectations, closer to 'disillusionment' than mere sadness. The related verb desilusionar means 'to disappoint' or 'to disillusion', and its reflexive desilusionarse means 'to become disillusioned'. Do not confuse with decepción, which covers disappointment more broadly.
Examples
"La desilusión en su cara era evidente."
Natural Translation
The disillusionment on her face was evident.
