artillería
artillery
noun ahr-tee-yeh-REE-ah Rare
Origin: From Old French artillerie, from artiller ('to equip with arms').
Usage Note
Artillería refers collectively to large-calibre weapons (cannons, howitzers, missiles) and to the military branch that operates them. As a mass noun it takes no article in certain military phrases (fuego de artillería, 'artillery fire'). Artillero is the soldier who operates artillery. Used figuratively in journalism: desplegar toda la artillería ('to deploy all resources').
Examples

Natural Translation
The artillery bombarded the enemy positions.
