Usage Note
Arraigar is a -gar verb (subjunctive/imperative: arraigue). It means both for plants to put down roots and, figuratively, for customs, ideas, or people to become firmly established in a place or culture ('una tradición muy arraigada'). The reflexive arraigarse emphasises the process of settling in ('se arraigó en la ciudad').
