Usage Note

Vidrio refers to glass as a material, such as a window pane or glass surface. It differs from vaso (a drinking glass) and cristal (crystal or, in Spain, often used interchangeably with vidrio for window glass). In Latin America vidrio is the standard term for window glass where Spaniards often say cristal.
