Usage Note
Solas appears almost exclusively in the fixed adverbial phrase a solas ('alone, by oneself, in private'): hablar a solas ('to speak privately'). As a standalone adjective agreeing with a feminine plural noun it is rare but grammatically correct (las mujeres solas, 'the women alone'). The seed POS 'noun' is a misclassification — it is an adjective, most often frozen in the adverbial phrase a solas.
Examples
"Prefería estudiar a solas por las noches."
Natural Translation
She preferred to study alone at night.
