Usage Note
Siguiente means the next or following item in a sequence (el día siguiente = the following day, la siguiente pregunta = the next question) and can come before or after the noun. Contrast it with próximo, which frames 'next' relative to the present moment (el próximo martes, next Tuesday) rather than to a point already mentioned (el martes siguiente, the following Tuesday).
