Usage Note
Reciente is invariable for gender (el cambio reciente / la noticia reciente) but takes a regular plural recientes. The adverb form is recientemente, though in speech it is often shortened to recién before a participle (recién llegado = 'just arrived'). Recién alone is a common Latinamericanism used as 'just now.'
