revolt
Usage Note
Rebelión is an organized uprising against authority; the legal Spanish term delito de rebelión refers specifically to an armed insurrection against the constitutional order. Do not confuse with rebeldía (rebelliousness as a trait or legal default) or revuelta (a less organized disturbance). The plural rebeliones follows the regular -ones pattern.
Examples
"La rebelión fue sofocada en pocas horas."
Natural Translation
The rebellion was suppressed within a few hours.
