Usage Note
Realidad is used in abstract and concrete senses — en realidad ('in reality/actually') is an extremely common discourse marker used to correct or qualify a statement, similar to English 'actually' or 'in fact'. La realidad virtual is 'virtual reality'. Do not confuse with realismo ('realism') or realizar (to carry out/achieve, NOT 'to realize' mentally — that is darse cuenta de).
Examples
