Usage Note

Acordar is an o→ue stem-changing verb (acuerdo, acuerda). In its non-reflexive form it means 'to agree' or 'to decide' (acordaron una reunión). Reflexively, acordarse de means 'to remember' (me acuerdo de ti) — a completely different sense that trips up learners. Do not confuse with recordar, which also means 'to remember' but is not reflexive.
