Usage Note
Preacuerdo is a compound of pre- + acuerdo (agreement) and refers to a tentative deal reached before the formal, binding agreement is signed — common in labour negotiations, peace talks, and commercial contracts. It is not the same as a full acuerdo; it still requires ratification. The plural is regular: preacuerdos.
Examples
"Los sindicatos firmaron un preacuerdo con la empresa."
Natural Translation
The unions signed a preliminary agreement with the company.
