Usage Note

Pesca refers both to the activity of fishing and, collectively, to the catch or haul. It should not be confused with pescado (fish as food) or pez (live fish). The compound pesca deportiva means sport fishing, and barco de pesca means fishing boat. The related verb is pescar.
