Also means
striking power
Usage Note
Pegada in sports refers to a player's punching or striking power, especially in boxing and football: tiene mucha pegada means 'he has a powerful punch/shot'. It derives from pegar ('to hit'). Outside sports it can colloquially mean the impact or effect something has: este anuncio tiene pegada ('this ad has impact'). Do not confuse with pegada as a past participle of pegar in other senses (e.g. stuck, glued).
Examples
"El delantero tiene una pegada brutal desde fuera."
Natural Translation
The striker has a brutal shot from outside the box.
