acomodado

well-off

adjective ah-koh-moh-DAH-doh Rare

Also means

comfortable, settled

Usage Note

Acomodado most often means financially comfortable rather than physically comfortable — describing a wealthy or upper-middle-class person. The sense 'convenient' or 'well-placed' also appears, especially in una posición acomodada (a comfortable position in society). Do not confuse with cómodo, which refers to physical ease or comfort.

Examples

"Vive en un barrio acomodado de la ciudad."

Natural Translation

He lives in a well-off neighbourhood of the city.
