Usage Note

ONG is the Spanish acronym for Organización No Gubernamental. It is feminine: una ONG, following the gender of organización. In speech it is often spelled out letter by letter. The plural is invariable: las ONG (not ONGs in formal Spanish, though ONGs appears informally).
