Usage Note
Navidad is written with a capital N when referring to the holiday, and is used in the greeting ¡Feliz Navidad!. In Spain and Latin America, Christmas celebrations often extend through Reyes (Epiphany, January 6th), which is traditionally when children receive gifts. The plural Navidades is also common and refers to the entire holiday season.
