Also means
held (of an event)
Usage Note
Celebrado has two distinct lives in Spanish. As an adjective meaning 'acclaimed' it modifies people or works (un celebrado novelista). As the past participle of celebrar, it frequently appears in passive constructions meaning 'held' — la reunión fue celebrada ayer simply means the meeting was held yesterday, not that it was praised. Context distinguishes them.
