Usage Note

Marina has two main senses: the armed naval force (la Marina de Guerra) and a genre of painting or photography depicting the sea (una marina = a seascape). It is also used for a marina (small-boat harbour). Do not confuse with marino (adjective: marine/naval, or noun: sailor).
