Also means
llama (animal)
Usage Note
Llama is feminine for both meanings: la llama (the flame) and la llama (the South American camelid). As a flame, it appears in vivid expressions like en llamas ('in flames', 'ablaze'). Note that llama is also the third-person singular present of llamar ('to call') — so llama a la puerta means 'she knocks on the door', not 'flame at the door'. Context resolves all three senses.
Examples
"La llama del fuego iluminaba la cueva."
Natural Translation
The flame of the fire lit up the cave.
