Usage Note
Latino (fem. latina) refers to a person of Latin American origin, especially in a US context. In Spain and Latin America, latinoamericano/a is more common for 'Latin American'. Latino can also be an adjective (cultura latina). The term hispano overlaps but emphasises Spanish language heritage; latino is broader and includes Brazil.
