justo
fair
adjective HOOS-toh Less Common
Origin: From Latin iustus.
Also means
just
Usage Note
Justo means fair or just as an adjective (un precio justo = a fair price) and also 'exactly' or 'just' as an adverb (justo a tiempo = just in time). As a false friend, it does not mean 'just' in the sense of 'simply'; use solo or simplemente for that. Justo can also describe a tight fit (estos zapatos están justos).
Examples
"El árbitro tomó una decisión justa."
Natural Translation
The referee made a fair decision.
Literal Translation
The referee took a decision fair
