Usage Note
Juez follows the -z to -ces plural rule: jueces. It is common gender — el juez or la juez — though the form la jueza is also widely accepted and increasingly preferred. In sports contexts juez can also mean 'referee' or 'official' (e.g. juez de línea = linesman).
