Horda refers to a large, disorderly crowd or a nomadic tribal group. Historically it designated the mobile armies of steppe peoples such as the Mongols (la Horda de Oro, the Golden Horde). In modern Spanish it is often used with a pejorative tone to describe an unruly mass of people: una horda de turistas.
